Indian Maritime University (IMU) invites applications from eligible candidates for the following posts  on deputation basis / transfer on deputation basis.   IMU was established by an Act of Parliament in  2008 in order to promote maritime studies and research and to achieve excellence in areas of marine  science and technology, marine environment and other related fields.   IMU is the first of its kind in the  country created exclusively for the advancement of maritime studies.   The University is in need of the  following officers and staff  to manage the University system covering its campuses viz. Chennai, 

Mumbai, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam and Cochin with Headquarters at Chennai.    

6.    Assistant Librarian   

  

Pay Band :   Rs.15600  ‐  39100/‐  (PB‐3)  +  Academic  Grade  Pay  Rs.  6000/‐  and  allowances  as  

admissible.   

Essential  Qualification  &  Experience:  Master’s  degree  in  Library  Science  /  Information  Science  

/ Documentation or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent  

grade  of  B  in  the  UGC  seven  point  scale  and  consistently  good  academic  record  with  digital  

library  experience,  computerization  of  library.    Qualifying  in  the  national‐level  test  conducted  

for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.  

Age Limit    :  35 years
